My Story...

This video is the most personal one I've ever made:

My name's Amanda. I'm 15, and I suffer from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). Most people think OCD is just about being a perfectionist or a hypochondriac, but it is truly a struggle for peace of mind in one's life. Intrusive and unwanted thoughts interfere with your everyday life, and often all we get is being made fun of. No support; no love; we're just the subject of numerous jokes. I often find myself crying and hopeless that I will ever get better. It certainly is a struggle to live your life normally when you're constantly worrying and doubting everything. There is an enormous difference between living and surviving. I want to LIVE again. This video is here to show people who suffer from OCD that having fun is still possible when you're living with it. There is hope! :]

Mostly, this video is a HUGE thank-you to the two people who let me have fun again...the two best Disney Cast Members ever...I went to Florida for vacation after a rough first year of high school, and little did I know that Captain Jack Sparrow and his first mate, Mack, would be the two to put a genuine smile on my face for the first time in months :]

I hope that this video raises awareness of this tormenting disorder, and that everyone will take it more seriously

I've had such bad OCD and anxiety all my life. Worrying and doubting everything is so exhausting and so frustrating, and my freshman year of highschool was the worst year of my life. I'm so glad you made this movie. Thanks for helping me remember that I'm not alone, and that things will get better.
