I got mine on eBay. I'm using Rickenbacker strings , these are compressed round-wound strings they are completely different than any other string type I've seen. It is these special strings that really make the guitar sound it's best.

Another thing that helps the guitar sound jangly is to lower the pick up height, this give less magnetic pull on the string and allows them to ring out clearly with lost of sustain.
