perfect tempo

i think that's a pretty subjective view. Out of all the recordings of pieces i've heard, in comparison to, say, milstein and oistrakh, Heifetz keeps tempo the best. Now some people say that's a lack of musicality, but not really. The secrets of beauty in many melodies lie in their rhythm, and its not always a good idea to butcher it in view of "art".
And he's a virtuoso violinist. To you he may be showing off but really he's just doing his job.

Play one breath. That it is impossible to come off! Fine execution! Skill of musicians on the verge of a fantasy! Thanks!

Awesome playing.
But distracting photo slide!

definitely my favourite recording i have come across - brilliant tempo, i love heifetz shifting, brings back that real old school refined method of playing. horowitz is brilliant and brings an amazing level of excitement and energy to the piano part. the two together are just like fireworks.
