  • @plutoplatters Look back at my other reply. A better video to explain what I am saying is Loops 2 by barriofisher. The old 10-2 thing goes out the window when you are going for serious distance. Steve Rajeff is not a good example. His distance is from gorilla slamming his forward cast. Most serious distance casters do like this guy with the rod dropping flat or below in tha back cast.

  • @FlyFishSteelhead Since kf6pzi didn't explain I guess I will. Watch any of the really great long distance casters. Like Fredrik Hedman. He has a video where he does a 117ft. cast with a 3 wt. Watch the rod. He goes below 9 oclock on the back cast. The line does a dip and then rises. Going past 10 and 2, a 180 cast, along with a late haul and rotation, he increases line speed, giving him distance. You can see this in many videos to the right.

  • @FlyFishSteelhead oh yeah... just awful ..

  • Terrible form. Your completely dropping your rod on the back cast. If you weren't on a lawn that cast would completly fall apart.
