The guy on the end is playing an electro acoustic Bass Guitar, this one is made by Carvin, most Guitar manufacturers make them and have done for some years.
They are the same scale as an electric Bass Guitar, they are tuned the same and compared with a Fender Bass they are not very pleasant to play, the strings in particular are Bronze and fairly rough to the touch.
I play Bass myself and i don't like them at all.

Yep, quite right, ....funny how the mind works. i was thinking Crafter yet for some reason Carvin came out of my fingers.
