I enjoyed ME3 very much. I also liked the ending, but that's probably because I played with already installed EC. But everything else besides ending was great.

Greatest to Worst, IMO: Mass Effect 2, Mass Effect 1, Mass Effect 3.

Anyone else believe that Mass Effect 3 became 1000x better with the Citadel DLC? I did.

It's kind of like the classic Star Wars movies: decent but formulaic first part that sets the scene, very cool character-focused second part that expands the cast, and the Big Damn Ending. All comes together.

ME1: late 70's sci-fi movies, idealism, exploration (Star Wars, Star Trek, Black Hole)

ME2: mid 80's sci-fi, grim/gritty, urban future (Blade Runner, Escape from New York, Aliens)

ME3: 90's sci-fi, alien invasion, Earth catastrophe, spectacle (Independence Day, The Fifth Element)

It's the complete modern sci-fi package.

I just finished the last game and almost immediately began a new run, this time as mostly paragon in ME1. There are so many things I missed from my first run. A true classic trilogy of gaming.

    Best to worst: ME3, ME2, ME1.

I'm a believer that the series simply got better and better as it went on.

For the record: I think it's easily the best series of all time, across all media.
