This step works well for resins that are less expensive and do not tolerate extensive UV exposure. The tape filters the UV and also locks the cells in place. There are several UV resistant Duct Tapes and other power adhesive tapes on the market. I like standard White Strapping Tape

  • first off thanks for all your hard work, but I do see alot of stuff you didnt do. 1. you didnt seal the wood. in a few months there going to turn green and brown and then fall apart. 2. you want the resin to go in front of the cells to seal it and make it air tight. but over all nice panel. thanks

Hi, thanks for enjoying our work.

This is back encapsulation, how most commercial panels are made, the wood sealer is mentioned in the previous video.

  • Some of your best work Dan. I really like this series of videos.

  • great video thank you, just a thought about your 10 gauge wire... Before you solder it you can tie a knot in it (inside the box) so that even if you do yank the wire, the connection would be more protected.

Yes! You are right! You will be able to power anything

without worrying your electric bill cause the solar

panel you build saves you a lot. So dont worry. Its

100% guarantee. I myself used that also for many

years now. Anyway, you can check some tips on

    there site. Here's the site:

  • plz tell me "what should be the ratings of diode?" if i m connecting panel directly with battery

    .

  • Hey Dan! I really appreciate your channel, you've already taught me a ton!

I'm quite interested in constructing my own solar panels, and eventually be able to sell them. I don't have a job, cause of my inability to work- longer story, so I'm thinking of this as a possibility for me to have a small income source, plus having fun actually working.

But after I read this "article" I became sceptical..
