Flying around Whita Hill near Langholm in the magnificent Scottish borders. Langholm is located 20 miles south of Hawick and 20 miles east of Lockerbie. It sits in the valley between 4 hills, Whita, Warbla, Meikleholm and Castle Hills. The obelisk I fly past commemorates the life and achievements of Sir John Malcolm, a distinguished soldier, statesman and historian. The other statue flown over is in memory of Hugh MacDairmid, famous scottish writer and born in the town. Thomas Telford was also born in the town.
