This video will show you how to export a character model using Unreal Editor 3 (the software that comes with the game Unreal Tournament 2004 - as is used in this video), and import it into Blender. It will also show you how to texturise the objects you've brought in.
This guide will outline the following elements in Blender:
- Importing objects
- Converting triangles to quads
- UVmapping
- Applying scaling, rotating and translating
The programs you will require are Blender, (the) Compressonater, and Unreal Editor.

Unreal Editor should come with your game. I will provide a download link if I can find one.
Applying translation, scale and rotation will help prevent any future problems with regard to rigging. To do this, press 'Alt + A' on your keyboard, and click 'scale,' 'rotate,' then 'translate.' on the transform shelf, you should see the values for each will reset to default.

When you've booted up Unreal Editor, to ensure the views are identical to this tutorials, make sure your windows are setup as mine:
Top left viewport: TOP VIEW
Top right viewport: FRONT VIEW
Bottom left viewport: DYNAMIC LIGHT
Bottom right viewport: SIDE VIEW
If your view doesn't match mine, and you can't fix this, click on 'View,' then 'Viewports.' Click 'floating,' then close all viewports, and then 'add viewport' continually and manage them so they look as they should.

The models in Unreal Tournament usually use two textures I've found: the head texture and the body texture. This tutorial covers how to add both when imported into Blender.
For the head texture, I used the following settings:
- Intensity: 0.110
- Hardness: 30
- Alpha: #Checked# 1.000
- Z-transparency: #CHECKED# 0.000
- Coordinate: UV
great video mate :) don't really understand anything not my type of thing but it looks good :)

@Techipedia lol thank you! Yeah this video's a bit on the complicated side - not something that can be covered in one or two small videos. And yep, still on good old XP! I want to get a new PC soon now tbh, but it's a wait 'n' see. How's things anyway?
