It's in 1969, in Bilzen.

  • In 40 years that I've been following Deep Purple I've never seen Ritchie play as tight and fast as on this track. I don't think he's ever excelled himself beyong this break-neck speed precision. Absolutely amazing..., can hardly believe my eyes..., his fingers move as fast as the flutter of a butterfly's wings!

  • hey that;s before 40 years!!! Richie is fast like devi!!! Those scales!!! Sound of that 335!!! Richie is not human he is some kind of superior being!!!

  • Best Song Ever.... Hail to the Purple!!!

  • @BiffChunksteak Eh,eh,eh. The big difference between their non-DP-work and the purple catalog. The difference is Rainbow with Ronnie and Ritchie on top. Better than DP for me

  • signed for Blackmore!

  • @CWF142 LORD IS AMAZING,BUT RITCHIE IS DRIVIN FORCE OF PURPLE,AND WITHOUT HIM AND HIS SOUND,PURPLE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN THE BEST BAND EVER

  • @anonymusum By all means, do. And don't hesitate to keep us posted about how you, as a classical pianist (whatever that is) used your special and superior skills of self control to bring that slouch Lord onto your level of excellence. He won't be performing for at least a year (laziness, you said it), so I'm sure you'll find the time for such noble task.

  • joey ramone in the drums

  • @BiffChunksteak

As a classical pianist I just can´t help lmao - I could give him some lessons - especially in discipline and avoiding laziness - and that´s another "truth": if you know one JL solo you know them all.

  • @anonymusum love truthisms, do you? I got one, too: Machine Head is hard to top because it was the album on which several exceptionally talented and equally strongminded musicians managed to reach the top of their abilities while remaining to work as a team for the last time. When Lord and Blackmore packed up their egos and ventured on, they kept evolving as musicians, hence the big difference between their non-DP-work and the Purple catalog. Lazy? You don't get where Lord is by slacking off.

  • @CWF142

And thats why Purple didnt develop since lets say Machine Head cause JL was to lazy to practice and made no progressions at all.

  • If I think of all the dummies that are in this fu... hall of fame, I cant believe that Ritchie isnt.
