Why is the world based on a lie? Why is it not built on truth and virtue...why has this not been the mode of operation of the human race?

Why is the vanity of the self so attached to the fantasy of the narcissist? These are the questions I have long contemplated in my own life. I was that child you speak. Forever debased, undermined, 'brought down a peg or two' for the good of the mediocre.

Why is not truth held above all as pride, not shamed. I still find these questions unanswered. Help me.

I think the problem that is the case now is that thinking for yourself is hard nowadays for 2 reasons:

if you want to do things on a professional level it's that often some absolute maximum is 'found' and taught. For example: all formula 1 drivers drive almost the same. Since this is a certainty money and attention goes to the known things and is inflexible for curiosity

Almost everyone can understand the shallow things and therefore being good in being shallow makes it easy in personal life.

Exactly. Especially the rejecting parents part. As a kid I was never able to finish a sentence, without getting cut short or being talked over and the point of what I was gets missed....it would make feel intimidated....may that's not the right word, but I would feel something along those lines. Being an analytical thoughtful and insightful person with depth stuck in a society of mediocre drones who are nothing but liars, hypocrites and just plain insane on some level. Ppl are weird. lol

Intelligent people that choose to go off the norm do not really offer any services to anyone directly therefore they dont make much money...by contrast a pimp offers a lot of services therefore can make alot of money and appear successful.
