  • Stainers Crucifixion in its entirety will be performed again this spring on April 1st in Jomala parish church here on Åland. My second time in a row that I partake in this wonderful event.

  • The first time I sang this piece I was 14 yrs old and with a 20 voice choir. So I was living inside the music and the gravity of the text plus the sombreness of the music moved me deeply, I will never forget it. Combine this piece , then God so loved world just overwelmed me.

  • This piece along with God So Loved the World were The most moving pieces I had the privledge of singing in my life in our choir in Bayridge Bklyn N Y . Though the last time I sang them was nearly 50yrs ago

  • Längtar till långfredagen!

  • to sing* . masterpiece :)

  • Yes this is the greatest piece in there so sing and maybe to listen to also.

  • I sang this with a community chorus last month. This particular section is my favorite. It is a fantastic thing to sing. I like seeing the score with the music. I wish I had found this while we were rehearsing.

  • thanks a lot for posting this! gorgeous piece :)
