Paxil Withdrawal

Paxil: 40mg for 8 years. From 40mg to hell in 60 days.
Like many, My Dr. never told me to taper off.
After a year of torment and almost loosing my sight, family and life! I'm back on paxil.
Now that I can think again, I made this to let others know they are not alone
What you don't know WILL hurt you!.
Loved ones will never understand the misery of SSRI withdrawal. God Speed!

I'm 34 and have been on Paxil since I was 20. I've tried to get off of Paxil several times, but the side effects are hell.....

@fallasdf ask your doctor for another antidepressant to replace paxil and taper off with that such as prozac. You will not feel the withdrawal. Search google. You'll be surprised.

I spent 4 years trying to get off this poison. Cold turkey switch to Paxil CR = full body hives and brain zaps 5x/minute. Switch method to Prozac or Celexa - both failed. Taper method down to 20mg, then forced up to 30mg when a refill wasn't correctly manufactured. Taper down to 15mg after 3 years... stayed there until couldn't afford it and back to 20 I went...

In a earlier depression I used prozac, which did a great job. 5 years later, I got the cheaper paxil which was way to harsh. Quit immediately after a week, and asked for prozac. Still on prozac 18 months later doing fine.

I've been told we all react different to AD's; some are a lifesaver for you, but a living hell for another.

@jtabor13 that's great, it helped me too 12yrs ago as a 15yo kid with anxiety. But try coming off of it and you will know how tough it is. I was at 40mg, then 30, 20, 10 and started 5mg today. Hope to God I can get off without any worse withdrawal symptoms. It is poison.

paxil contains fluorine,which is toxic to the brain,liver and other organs.Dont take this shit.This is not alarmist BS.Look it up.Paxil,prozac and many other drugs contain fluorine(fluoride)We get enough fluorine elsewhere,we dont need it from our anti-depressants.
