This year is the 200th anniversary of the start to the War of 1812. Many Americans too this day still attempt to try and re-write history to say they won the war. With couragous efforts like Ms.Laura Secord we enjoy the Country that we live in today. The war of 1812 gave Canada its first sence of identity and a mutual respect grew accross the land for one another. As Canadians this year I employ all of us to commemorate this victory and stand proud as the true north strong and FREE!

I've read that Fitzgibbon already knew of the plan. That does not take away, though, from Laura Secord's amazing effort. But if what I've read is correct, how could he have already known about it if the plan had just been hatched at Laura's?

I love her chocolate :)

Great great patriot and her story should be told. She walked about 30km and climbed the Niagara Escarpement. The British officers were reluctant to believe her story, luckily they did. Thanks to the chocolate company naming their business after her so her name is seen everywhere across this country. The Maple Leaf forever!

Moral of the story: never underestimate a "harmless" woman!!

I love Laura Secord. If not for her, we'd all be Americans today.
Who plays the guy tipping-off the older guy(0:25)? I 've seen him in other work.

@steeltownbrown52: You know, I thought he looked familiar, too. I don't know who he is, though...

so the real story is basicly (I'm doing a project on it) she heard the plans and ran to tell him but she passed out and natives took her there?

@onbeyondzebrabydrs: I don't know if she actually passed out, but otherwise, yes, she heard about the American plans, came across a native village on her way to warn the British, and they led her the rest of the way. As a result, the British forces handily won the Battle of Beaver Dams.
