  • what software did you use? and how long approx did it take?

  • @mcgelite

It was a school assignment, we did this with 3 people and it took us 7 weeks. We used 3Ds Max and Photoshop for the textures.

  • what software did you use?

  • For this 3Ds max for the 3d work

  • Looks like you need to fix the mapping a little. Fiddle with the UVW mapping a bit. It's not tricky to get a basic fitting. Use either a (haven't touched MAX in about a year) box or cylindrical mapping mode to start, and then unwrap the UV's manually in the editor. Make sure your ratios are 1:1 and all maps are at the same scale. It looks a little off, since some objects have no maps at all and the smoothing groups might not be consistent. Otherwise, very nice modeling and texturing.

  • lighting plays a very huge role on the theme of the cave, also adding more furniture would also help create the feeling of coziness.

lol what a stupid question. i would say 80% of the maps ive made end up being used for nothing more than learning.

  • ah nederlands :P mooi gemaakt. zie je niet vaak dat een nederlander dit maakt o.O

  • Hi, im a beginer at 3d studio max, and i just wonderd how you did the Waterfall at the begining, if its a particle system or just a animated map?

  • looks pretty good, however being a blender 3d Artist i can also see the flaws....most of it is good however its the begining of the animation that gets me right away. The squared look to the walls of the cave kind of set back the quality...it looks more like it was improvised with textures rather than poly count or other such things...its pretty good but i bet you can do better than that.

  • :o sweet

    Nice job! :D
