400 young Ottawa students will kick-off their day simultaneously with hundreds of fellow students in Solio, Kenya via Giant Screens and live Internet. It's all part of a remarkable experience where local students will interact between Africa and Canada while playing soccer in both continents.
Ottawa-- In conjunction with The Garnier FindingLife Expedition to Africa the April 26th international soccer tournament will give students in Canada and Kenya a unique opportunity to participate an event that encompasses the love of sport, character development, interactive technology, community building, global connections and much more. FindingLife founder and Expedition leader Elia Saikaly explains the significance of this even to the students in this inspiring video.
This is more than just a soccer game. Students will be given the opportunity to move thru a series of stations where they can learn about Kenyan life, culture, and be able to communicate directly via Skype & Instant Messaging with the students in Africa.
Simon Nabukwesi, the Kenyan High Commissioner to Canada will also be in attendance to show Kenya's appreciation and to encourage Kids in both countries to continue to strive to reach their goals. The event will serve as the expansion of the Moving Mountains "Black Cats" program into Solio. "The Black Cats keeps kids off the streets by involving them in sports, music, drama and scouting.
