its a TRAUMA plate people...without it the vest will still stop the round, what the plate does is take the impact force out of stopping your heart. hence the size and location of the plate.

To everybody who is complaining about the size of the plate.... It's only a demostration piece! This kind of stuff is expensive to manufacture, so why ruin a whole vest of it for demonstrations. It's pretty damn obvious that a single 5x10 plate wouldn't protect you, these people are not idoits.

"Liquid Armor" is better and can buy all the chemicals you need off of Ebay. Soft Kevlar into hard armor for dirt cheap compaired too the price of plates.

Soaking your kevlar in shear thickening fluids is a revolution in armor.

Put some real rounds into that plate. How about SS109 5.7x29, Tokarev 7.62x25?

9mm, 40, and 45 are all easily stopped by most any soft body armor.
