Disney on Ice: Celebrations! 24 October 2009 (Taken with the EOS 7D!)

I took these pictures of the ice skating show at the Patriot Center on George Mason University's campus in Fairfax, Virginia. I had a seat right on the edge of the ice, which I think paid off in terms of the perspective of the pictures. I used my Canon EOS 7D SLR (which with its 8 frames per second capability was an ideal tool for photographing this event). The lenses I used were the Canon L-series 70-200 F2.8 and 24-105mm zooms. I developed the pictures in Adobe LIghtroom 2.3 and did further work on them in Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0. I used the Alienskin Bokeh plug-in to introduce more shallow depth of field in some pictures as well as the Topaz Adjust and Detail plug-ins. Since the pictures were taken at high ISOs (typically 1600), I also used Noiseware Standard 2.0 to reduce the noise in some of the pictures.

I shot most of the pictures with a Canon L-series 24-105mm short zoom (not the kit lens) and a handful of the pictures with a Canon L-series 70-200mm F2.8 medium zoom.

Which Lens? If its the kit lens then is it a good lens?
