name on youtube was motown4sho...but i changed it. this is a video showing pics of some of the things my mom's cousin gave me from when she worked for motown & also i added pics of the motown artists.

Margaret was the president of the Hitsville International Fan Club run by Motown during the mid 60s. She helped to organize a trip to Hitsville in 1964 for Dave Godin, founder of the Tamla Motown Appreciation Society in the UK, which helped to spread the word about Motown and soul music generally in the UK and western Europe. She acted as liaison point for the society with information about the artists and releases. The society produced a small magazine about the trip with a few photos of Margaret. She also worked with Tamla Motown in the UK when the label was set up by EMI in 1965.

  • Just to clarify: Smokey stated in his autobiography that his Uncle called him Smokey Joe while at the movies watching a cowboy flick. As a youth Smokey liked it and tied it to the cowboy thing, but his Uncle made it clear he shouldn't ever forget he was black. Smokey was fair skinned, light haired, and gray eyes. Smokey later learned some people called dark-skinned blacks "Smokey". So his Uncle was both being ironic and being insensitive to a young lad.

  • His name is Wlliam Robinson. He was given the name Smokey by a family memeber because he liked cowboy films

  • very cool. I've never heard Smokey referred to as Bill Smokey Robinson other than on early Tamla releases.

  • I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yeah!!!! she is a Legend
