My 22-yr-old RES turtle, after a long day of walking around exploring my house. She's back in the tank & ready to sleep.

  • How do you know that Sheba is a girl???

  • She has short front claws & short tiny tail. Boys have very long front claws & large thick tail.

  • does she poo or pee out of the water?

  • Only if she just got done eating. I don't let her walk around right after I feed her.

  • i love all your videos

i have two red eared sliders

their names are bonnie & clyde

    sheba is so cute!

    how old is she?

is she the mother of siobhan?

  • Thank you! I've had Sheba for almost 18 yrs, but she is actually older (I got her when she was 6 inches long). She & Siobhan are not related. Siobhan was a rescue turtle that died of a strange parasitic illness several months after I got him.

  • one time i thought my RES was a boy it turns out its a girl, plus girls do have a short tail and short claws while boys have long claws and thick tail and their butt is near the tip of the tail

  • What do you feed her? o_0

  • @Hero3128 Those are some of the best ways to tell the sex but you can also look at them from their side while holding them up. The males will have stomachs that are either flat or bending inward, females stomachs bend outward a bit (:

  • how big is her tank and how long/often do you usually let her walk around outside of her tank?

  • and males r smaller

  • i have a 2 year old res can you give me some advice

  • I heard you said blueberries in this video,

does your RES like to eat berries?

I have four turtles, two 1 yr old and 2 babies, but I am afraid to feed them any fruits at a young age. I tried to feed them a strawberry one time; it was untouch. lol. When did yours start eating berries?

  • It's found naturally in turtles' digestive tract. Kind of like how E. Coli lives in our digestive tract. It's like the same thing. Both can be harmful.
