and why was federer in the final and djokovic not? because djokvic always met rafa in the semifinal.. logical or not? and the matches on clay against djokovic were most of the time closer than those against roger...!! both are strong

Rafa got injured in Miami. He patched himself up (with pain killers, anti-inflamatory, physiotherapy) and continue playing; he won 2 Masters and reach the Final in Madrid, but that final was going to have terrible consequences. His chronic tendinitis can not be taken for granted like that! Rafael is a master of endurance and a tennis genius! He won the AO Slam, Indian Wells Master, Monte Carlo and Rome Masters, and Barcelona in 2009

Djokovic was sublime to stand to Rafa like he did! The match had consequences for both of them; Djokovic he was in tears after that match and Rafa was injured and it costed him not just the tournament but the rest of the year! Rafa has been in the habit of playing with injury and pushing himself too much; in 2009 the team learnt a lesson!
