Yiruma - Do You

Basically when writing the lyrics, the emotions that came to me were both hope and loss, but not the loss of someone but of something and the hope coming from, well, hoping for something new in return.

In my eyes, using the term 'butterfly' came from the fact that everything about a butterfly is symmetrical and beautiful, and although both hope and loss are opposites, they're also both equal in every right, making the wings of the said butterfly a resemblance to what it has lost and what it longs for in return.

The butterfly can represent anyone or anything, as at times, all of us feel the emotion of despair and loss of hope, or in better terms, wanting to give up. Plus, each and every one of us are beautiful creatures, just like a butterfly.

The narrative, which is told in second person is due to the fact that there's always someone out there who is willing to help someone who is lost and help them find the hope they long for, to show them they are never alone, and when they feel like giving up, they are there to give them the push they need.
