Look for natural sources of sunscreen, you do not have to suffer from sunburn, you just have to try to find what works best for your skin. All of us have positive things about our skin and all we have to do is work with what we got to the best of our ability. Aloe plus may help you when you get sun burn. Good luck.
@SerialKilla4u Yes in the winter months vitamin D is critical because low vitamin D levels increases your risk to many dis-eases ex: influenza. Vitamin D is critical for life. Remember not all vitamin D are equal as several of them have additives which are dangerous to ones health. There are few sources of food with vitamin D. Anyway, hope this helps.
@mikuruasahinarunrun I know this is 6 months old, but I agree with you 100%. Personally, I stay away from sunscreens altogether. A lot of blacks living in colder regions suffer from diabetes, heart disease, high fat levels, chronic bone, muscle & joint pain etc, and in most cases, this is attributed to lack of vitamin D from the sun & putting on sunscreen during the summer months can stop the production of vitamin D altogether.
@mikuruasahinarunrun Good points, actually. I read somwhere that Bob Marley got melanoma because of his father (white). So maybe as African Americans get sun cancer due to the European ancestry. But I have also heard Africans get skin cancer.
zoobalac if you are Black think back to your ancestors and try to find out how many of them had skin cancer.
WE must take caution as to the things we put on our skin and into our mouths. Our people unfortunately do not realize that most products on the market are eurocentric and that we are often fall into the trap of following what these people do. We need to learn about our bodies from us not from the slave master who tells us how to care for ourselves. Are they "helping" us??
blacks dont need sun block,i seen some vids of beautiful African queens dancing in the SUN.
