"Sir Tandeth writes "A former technician at AT&T, who alleges that the telecom giant forwards virtually all of its internet traffic into a "secret room" to facilitate government spying, says the whole operation reminds him of something out of Orwell's 1984. Appearing on MSNBC's Countdown program, whistleblower Mark Klein told Keith Olbermann that a copy of all internet traffic passing over AT&T lines was copied into a locked room at the company's San Francisco office — to which only employees with National Security Agency clearance had access. 'Klein was on Capitol Hill Wednesday attempting to convince lawmakers not to give a blanket, retroactive immunity to telecom companies for their secret cooperation with the government. He said that as an AT&T technician overseeing Internet operations in San Francisco, he helped maintain optical splitters that diverted data en route to and from AT&T customers. '"

Nothing that happens in this world surprises me.......it is in the nature of human beings whenever they have advantage to do what they should not do or would not want others to do to them. And their will always be those who are willing to go along and corporate with people with evil intentions, especially if it is the government. Most people are like sheep; willing to be lead and believe pretty much anything if they are told the reason for doing it is for their protection and the greater good.

thats why AT$T is evil... and never ever trust your government! Everyone that has worked for the government knows how shady they are and how its do as I say not as I do. I say every one should mention bomb or anthrax or anything like that in EVERY phone call... that way it will be pointless to monitor it... Im starting that now!! haha
