In the field of daily carry knives, the SOG FLASH 1 is a fast, lightweight, well-built, and securely carried companion. I have many of these knives and have used them extensively for both duty and personal use. As my VIDEO shows, the FLASH 1's size is perfect as is the deep carry clip. Add its good quality AUS8 steel and most importantly it's feathery 1.2 oz weight (not 1.4 oz ike I said in video) and you have the near-perfect daily carry knife. The full flat ground blade has amazing slicing performance. For a knife you'll have on your person at ALL times to open packages, cut food, etc. it's my top recommendation. ///////////// This is Nutnfancy's first knife review, originally made for Amazon.com! Video quality is poor, so sorry. ////////////// Nutnfancy Likability Scale: 10 out of 10

  • So this is how it all started

  • How many knives do u have...

  • @ Boseconsultants. Yeah i totally know what you mean. For example I put a permanenet fix on the safety lock so it doesen't engage by accident. However I never had a problem with the noisy lock release. As for the durability, I still cut kables and crack open my beer bottles. Hehe. Consealment was my primary choice.

  • @SmartEmployee This use is unique and your perspective is well taken. Indeed, the knife completely settles into the pocket. However, I simply can't get over how flimsy this knife feels in the hand. And the damn rattling from the lock release in closed position just drives me mad.

  • I normally agree completely with Nutnfancy, but not in this case. The Sog Flash 1 feels fragile and unsubstantial in the hand - I can best describe it as feeling like a toy in one's hand. It is difficult to open confidently and I feel like it will come out of my hand at any moment. Very little traction via the zytel. The spyderco dragonfly is a much better (albeit more expensive) choice.

  • On your recommendation, I ordered a SOG Flash 1.

I'm very impressed with the knife and appreciate your 'no nonsense' review(s).

  • That's a killer little knife! My primary EDC. The pocket clip works miracles when you're wearing a suit and tie. Just pop it into your shirt pocket and it looks like a ballpoint pen.

  • Just got one for Xmas from my dad...love it! It now sits amongst my growing collection (Kershaw skyline, Spyderco Delica 4 FFG and my prized posession Benchmade Triage 915 orange variety). Next purchase Ontario Rat 7. Nutn, you are killing me with all these backpacking, gun and knife reviews! BTW, it's interesting to see how much you have grown in your reviews over the years.

  • I just bought one of these for a EDC at work. Thank you NFP keep up the good work!

  • Sooo this was your first video?
