Yay! A new baby!! My dad passed this awesome little piece of history on to me today. There was some rust damage to the receiver. I spent 6 or 7 hours scrubbing, restoring, and getting to know this great lever-action rifle. A hundred year old design that was a treat to become familiar with.

  • @matsplat1975 Congratulations! What a great gift from your dad! Your video has given me some confidence to the same with mine. It's a 1974 Model 94 like yours. Are you considering bluing it? I wasn't sure if you could. Seems like a read somewhere that it wouldn't take. Do you know? Thanks for the video....your iPhone 4 did a great job!

  • @libertyss35 I like how rustic it looks with the bare receiver so I am not planning on bluing it. I am sure it would blue very easily since the metal is very rough and not like a polished stainless steel would be. I just don't know how good it would look. From seeing lots of other model 94s it seems like there are a lot of different receivers with different finishes out there. I think mine would work if I wanted to.

  • Omg I got one from my father too!! but he died before I was born!! these weapons are awesome!

  • @roke1988 Yep. I wouldn't consider a gun collection complete without a lever-action like this.

  • Yeah, I don't know why these guys think a normal 94 has any collector value at all. I don't care about pre-64, closed the plant, blah blah...there's millions of these guns around.

  • @JasonMarano Yep. It is kind of like the Ruger 10/22 in a way. Everyone and their little sister owns one. It is a classic design but more common than fleas on a rat.

  • @Mattsplat1975 Omg I got one from my father too!! but he died before I was born now. My 30-30 is a cowboy edition with a medal embedded in the rear!

  • la mejor arma...!

  • @Mattsplat1975 And it's just an overall fun rifle to shoot. Same thing here, my grandpa gave it to my dad, my dad gave it to me.

  • @TheJamesloy Good point. Thanks for the comment. There are so many of these guns out there that it isn't exactly a collectors item. It is one of the most made rifles of all time. But the sentimental value of this rifle to me is priceless. Someday my dad won't be here anymore but I will give this rifle to my son someday.
