MACEDONIA -Korab mountain 2008 - Old Macedonian song: Jano Mori (Kiril Mancevski)

KORAB, the highest mountain in Macedonia, with some of its characteristics and landscapes reminds of the Alps. It belongs to the Dinarian mountain chain and it is part of the National Park Mavrovo. Korab reaches from north to south - on an area of 580 km2, 210 km2 of which are on the territory of the Republic of Macedonia.
Alpic impressions are created by 52 peaks higher than 2000 meters, and the peak GOLEM KORAB dominates among them with its 2754 meters above sea level.
Korab which mainly is surrounded with the canyon of river Radika would be sufficiently unique and attractive only with its peaks but the nature did not spare itself here and gave eight lakes and the canyon of Dlaboka reka (Deep River) which is abundant of amazing waterfalls. And for those who like gentle landscapes , there are flower meadows covered with innumerable streams and reach flora and fauna,
In a nutshell, Korab is irresistible, attracts with its beaty and anyone will fall in love at first sight with this mountain.
