Snooky Pryor (harmonica and vocals) and Moody Jones (guitar) recorded some of the earliest post-war Chicago blues, including 'Telephone Blues', which was issued on Planet and Old Swingmaster, an early Al Benson (Parrot, Blue Lake) enterprise, in 1948. U.K. label Blue Horizon saw fit to issue 'Telephone Blues' on a 45 rpm single in 1968.

  • i am new 2 this era of music becuz i am dating the daughter of the late Moody jones an i am getting a feel for her father.. this is great post ww2 chicago blues...

  • Moody Jones made some terrific records. 'Telephone Blues' also came out in the late '60s in the U.K. on a rare 45rpm release. Many Brits at that time were getting into Chicago blues in a big way. I've put a picture of that issue up on sister website eagerboy49 in case Miss Jones wants to check it out. Have a look at eagerboy59 too for some nice '50s R'n'B vocal groups (Moonglows, Heartbeats, etc.). Thanks for tuning in.
