Frequently Asked Questions:

1- Where do you find all this reptile news?
I work about 7 days a week most weeks scouring the internet for reptile related news. I find hundreds of stories
per week from different places all over the world. The unfortunate part is I can only pick a few per day to talk
about because of the time it takes to produce the show but I do post a lot on the website that never makes it on
the show.

2- Why is your reptile news always doom and gloom?
I love happy news, we all do but the sad fact is our community has a lot of bad news going around right now and I
dont make the news, I just tell it so its not really me promoting doom and gloom, its more like just informing you
and promoting us as a community to ban together and change the future.

3- Do you actually think you are helping the reptile hobby?
Not only do I think I am but I know I am. I am a huge supporter and promoter of the reptile hobby as well as super
pro business. I spend every single day helping to promote a positive image of our hobby to the general public, what
have you done to promote our hobby today?

4- Will you promote my site, channel, business exc exc?
Yes I would love to do all of the above but I have a strict new rule that before I allow any promotion on DRN the
person must first prove that they are doing someone to help our community.

I have been providing the daily reptile news for several years now. I started it with Foot Hill Reptiles in 11/2006.
When I sold FHR I started foothillherps.com and continued to provide the news on the forum. In January 2010 I started
providing it via you tube as well as the FHH forum. In February 2010 we went to high definition coverage of the
important daily news as it pertains to reptiles and amphibians. On March 15th, 2010 dailyreptilenews.com debuted as
your #1 source for Daily Reptile News.

  • I thought alligators were legal as long as they were under 5 feet? I know they are here in Indiana. Once they get past 5 feet you need a permit, and the permit is like $15.

  • @LeopardGeckoFry Only in Indiana LOL:) No I think they have been illegal in NY for a long time now. My father says you use to be able to mail order them from catalogs in NY

  • NNNOOOOO! not the turtles!!!

also those people who helped the frogs cross the road I think thats pretty awsome and they should try and rais money so they can put a tunnel under the raod for them or somethin any way video R+

  • @JurassicGaint I would imagine the cost is horrible just for the permits to run a pipe under the road let alone actually doing it. Road work is very expensive stuff.

  • @Neesharani and to add to that...Idk why youd want a pet like that. Lots of issues with proper care, set ups and lets not forget the animal itself with an agressive nature. As for the turtles Im so sad :( The sea turtles have been getting more and more illnesses {tumors I think?} and we are losing them fast.

  • I used to live in PA and they would sell crocs and gators at flee markets. My 1st encounter with a gator was a baby that fit in my hand {yep the seller let kids handle them NO taped mouth and no warnings} Idk the laws now up north but here in KY you can own them both for a small fee. The catch is if your community complains enough you have to forfit the animal. With all the new laws the gov. is trying to pass we will be lucky to keep our snakes let alone a gator or croc :/

  • The toad crossed the road in the unpopular squeal to FROGGER

  • @reptile411 Well I guess every states different. We had a caiman a few years back that we had to give away because it was getting too big for the enclosure. So thats how I know about alligators. I just can't believe getting a permit for them is only $15. I guess they make up for it by overpricing every other license.

  • @idkwht2name Yeh it would. I had a dream long ago about turning my entire property into a rain forest type of landscape and one thing I could picture was several free roaming tortoises on the property. Containment would be very hard though.

  • @reptile411 lol that would be expencive but fun

  • @greendayhieu Time for some more education and conservation.
