It's "butter beans" not "buttered beans". Butter beans are a kind of lima bean, not beans with butter on them (which would be buttered).

@MrJDFrog Good point. I never noticed this. It's probably because I always hated lima beans and Mom consistently served them for every meal when I was a wee lad- yuk.

this song was stolen from my father in law he wrote this song they stole it frome a small bar in pasadena texas and changed a few words

Did my heart good to hear that old song. My dad used to sing it all the time. I think he changed the words around a bit, but he was known to do that. Anyways, a nice old ditty done well. Nice to know there's still a few downhome folks still around. God bless.
