There is a part of me who thinks that the whales just somehow KNOW that we love seeing them and that's why they come so close. Its like, "Hey ma? The funny pink things are back. Can I go see them and make them make that funny noise? PLEEEEASE?"

@mauimom67 You are lucky indeed. The joy whales bring to humans says a lot about how much we feel connected to them. They are a pure joy and love and this is how people express the happiness these animals bring to them.

What must they think of us humans? Are we like screaming bugs to them? Do flies screams like this when a person comes into a room?

As a Maui local, I always get a chuckle from tourists who get so excited at the things we see as regular "everyday life". It's nice though, to know we live in such a coveted place. Maui is indeed a magical, wonderful place...truly touched by God. His handiwork surrounds us here.
