Arrestations de masse de manifestants anti-Kabila dans le quartier Matonge, à Ixelles, Bruxelles. Le rassemblement, dans un premier temps autorisé, avait finalement été interdit. La police a procédé à 192 arrestations administratives et quatre arrestations judiciaires. Le rassemblement avait été convoqué alors que le président sortant de la République démocratique du Congo, Joseph Kabila, a été réélu avec 48,95% selon les résultats communiqués dans l'après-midi par la Commission électorale nationale indépendante (Céni). Mais son rival, Etienne Tshisekedi, s'est immédiatement proclamé "président élu". Les pro-Tshisekedi et les anti-Kabila sont descendus dans la rue de Ixelles pour dénoncer le soutien de la Belgique à un régime qu'ils estiment non démocratique.

La polizia ha fermato, solo nella serata del 9 dicembre, circa 200 persone. La manifestazione era stata indetta subito dopo la diffusione della notizia che, secondo i risultati ufficiali della Commissione elettorale nazionale indipendente, Joseph Kabila avrebbe ottenuto il 48,95% dei voti nelle elezioni presidenziali della Repubblica democratica del Congo. Contemporaneamente il suo maggiore sfidante, Etienne Tshisekedi, si è proclamato "Presidente eletto". Gli attivisti belgi pro-Tshisekedi e anti-Kabila denunciano il sostegno del Belgio a un regime che non ritengono democratico.

Mass arrest at the anti-Kabila strike in the Matongé neighborhood of Brussels. The strike, initially authorized, has been after forbidden. Police arrested, only the 9 of December, almost 200 people.
