Loving - August 11, 1989 Closing (Custom, Rough Edit)

Cast crawl from the August 11, 1989 episode of Loving. You would think these were actually taken from ABC, but surprise, surprise, these are custom-made by myself. This is a rough edit that needs watermarking and chroma-key touches in order to be finished. Until I get my primary video editing system back up and running with my new hardware, this will serve as a good "before" video to show where/how watermarking effects need to be added.

I have to extract the closing version of the Loving logo and add it to the beginning. That can be done via watermarking. To have the logo scroll up as the credits begin, I would need to insert a second copy of the graphic into a motion effect chroma-key animation. Also, for every episode still seen behind the credits, horizontal lines taken from the top and bottom of each still would be implemented via watermarking to give the credits that authentic "electronic" look. Near the end, I decided to be creative and pay tribute to Another World actor Douglass Watson, who had died that past spring. A smaller version of the Loving logo will be placed between "In" and "Memory" via additional watermarking.

The Loving logo and copyright notice that appears at the end was from the actual short closing sequence of the 8/11/89 episode (which can be seen on YouTube). After uploading, it appears that a few seconds of audio toward the end skipped; the last few lyrics of the song are "..yours and mine".

This closing features the latter half of the full Johnny Mathis vocal theme, not heard in my previous editing closing for Loving. Enjoy.

I had an instrumental version of the closing years ago. It played after an episode where Shana remembers her husband died. Do you happen to have that version of the theme?

I am going to ask Danny (Disabled1955) for his cuts of the closing instrumental. They may not be complete and will have network voiceovers, but the latter especially isn't necessarily a bad thing.

hahaha!!!!! The ending line "believe and you will always find that loving can be yours"....set to the picture of Ava having a bow and arrow drawn at her heart!!! Hysterical!!!!! The title of this show really didn't always fit (i.e. Jon O'hurley playing the devil who wanted to ruin Father Jim's life)....but this show will always live on in my heart. Never realized what a great theme song this was until I hear it in it's entirety during the closing. Anyone have any clips of 1991 with Carly?

This is such a beautiful song. Just as beautiful as the 1980s OLtL and the 1987-96 Another World theme songs.
