  • Roderick T. Long calls himself a left libertarian. He is obviously completely solid on the NA. I think Long is joking, at least partially.

  • @TheLegalImmigrant05 I've found Longs approach to ethics interesting but I've not looked into it very deeply. I really have very little ill to say of the man, however I dont know any other Left Libertarians who are Roderick Longians. They often strike me as "pro market, anti capitalist". I and understand taking that stand in assessing current conditions , but in theoretical free market, it doesnt make any sense.

  • There are two main factions to left-libertarians those influenced mainly by American "individualist" anarchists (normally called the libertarian left) and those influenced primarily by European anarchists and Noam Chompsky's ilk (normally called libertarian socialists). The second type don't care about the NAP generally from what I've seen. Sadly they are not a "tiny" subset. There are a large number of them but thankfully they are almost all in Europe and not the USA heh.

  • @batmanthe I've noticied that also, in Europe an "anarchist" is socialist/communist. In the US many, probably not most, are Rothbardian free market anarchists. I feel this is a posative juxtopastion between the two societies.

  • i jsut dont like left libertarians, their attidudes stike me as being hatefull, or at least the ones I know. Either hateful or envyious

  • Good video. Left libertarianism is an oxymoron. They oppose private property.

I am a right-libertarian and I hate feminism and abortion, but I am not going to use coercion to get rid of them. It doesn't work. The beauty of a stateless society is that there is no monopoly over the moral code of society. Individuals/families with similar views are free to form their own local communities where their morals will thrive. I believe social taboos can be more powerful than laws.

  • I agree with everything you say. There can be no coercion without consent. Therefore the state is illegitimate and has no right to exist. I also am not against hierarchy per se. Hierarchy exists naturally. What left libertarians want is equality by coercion, which is almost as bad as coercive taxation.

  • @TheLegalImmigrant05

Long needs to consider what state of society feminists would be okay with as "not rape culture". If you understand the terms, this means where men do not have physical strength superior to that of women. i.e. Biology has to be defied. Since genes do not switch around like that, and even if they were, women would sex-select the stronger men to reproduce with (thus reinstating the "rape-culture"). The only solution that would satisfy it, is -NO men at all.

  • Great video.
