PMDG 747-400, EGLL (Heathrow London GB), Runway 09R, Transition BIG, STAR BIG3B.

Approach Data:
Flaps 30, Final approach speed Vref 143 knots +5 knots = 148 knots
Autobrakes 1

Video begins at localizer capturing. Quickly after that the aircraft slows down and the Flaps are extended. After glideslope is alive, gears are set to down, flaps fully extended, autobrakes set to 1, speedbrakes armed, missed approach altitude set and checklist reading.
At 1000 about ground level the AP and A/T is disconnectet. From now the aircraft is completly manual landed.
After touchdown, align with centerline, control the speedbrakes (they must be in the extended position), control the autobrakes, bring the reverse thrust levers in the idle position (if thats not enough for deaccelerate give a little bit more reverse thrust).
If 60 knots groundspeed are reached, bring back the thrust levers in the idle position, release the autobrake system by pressing the rudder pedal brakes manually. Then manual deaccelerate the aircraft by using your feet on the rudder pedals to 20 knots and turn to the next able taxiway.

On the taxiway:
Retract Flaps to up position
Transponder to standby
Flight directors off
Landing-, Strobe-, RWY Turnoff-, and Wing Lights off
Taxi-, Logo-, Navigation and Becon Lights on
Wing and engine anti ice off
Speedbrakes retract
APU on

Wait for taxi clearance and taxi to your gate. Thats it :-)

At the gate (or heavens gate if the landing has been bad..hehe):

Set parking brake
APU bleed air switsch on
Engines bleed air switches off
APU generator switches on
Engine fuel cutoff switches off
Passenger seatbelt signs off
Exterior lights off
2 packs off
IRS selectors off
Hydraulic pumps off

Perform shutdown checklist

write xour flightlog

leaving aircraft:
Shut down apu bleed air switch
Shut down recirc fans, trim air, aft cargo heat and humidifier
Shut down apu generators
Shut down apu selector (off)
Set standby power selector to off
and last but not least:
Shut down the battery

wake up your first officer and go home to sleep!^^

  • In this video at 1000ft agl you disconnected A/T and disengaged A/P for manual landing very nice until now but at 200ft agl if you see an aircraft in the middle of runway can you tell me how will you make the procedure for a go around with A/T disconnected and not in position ARM?

I think that A/T with off position, pushing the TO/GA button not activated

  • @dim14265

Youre right. In all of my videos i have disconnected the autothrottle arm switch. Thats wrong. Sorry for that. You can do this, that is no problem but if you need go-around thrust you have to advance the thrust lever by hand. A real procedure is to disconnect the autothrottle with the a/t disengage switch. This switch is not simulated in the PMDG747. But you can select a key-command in the pmdg menue "reset TOGA". This diseng. the autothrust without diseng. the Autothrottle

    thanks a lot my friend!!

  • @dim14265

    Not at all :-)

  • how do you get the atc screen up and the altimeter

  • @SuperRussell789

You can hide out and unhide the ATC- screen by using your standard atc key (take a look in your fsx settings). If the ATC-key is blended in you can move to a place on your screen where you want to. To enlarge the PFD, ND or EICAS intergrated screen from your 747-400 just klick the desired screen with a left mouse klick on it. I hope you meant the PFD because you wrote "altimeter". There is a standby-altimeter too but it is only used when the PFD failed e.g.

  • Hmm thats problematic. You have to use the rudder keys to set the rudder back to the neutral position. I dont know if there is a key to set the rudder directly to neutral.

So far as i can recall there is a tool an avsimlibrary that you can use to set the rudder to neutral by a key. But i forgot the name of this program. sorry. My advise to you is to use rudder pedals like saitek or ch-products. This hardware pedals auto-spring-back to their neutral pos. and are prefered for a higher precision

  • @CowBonbon But if you use the default rudder keys what do you click making it turn back to straight after finishing the turn? Please help thanks.
