From what I've read, if these get in the great lakes it's a disaster. Supposedly, they aren't a fish that humans (outside of some delicacy dishes in Asia) eat, and have been described as a floating bag of bones. Whenever the carp get into an ecosystem they eat everything in it, and end up making up 95% of the living animals in that ecosystem. These are some bad fish.

@matjam68 everything is correct except for the fact that they don't eat fish, they're filter fish, they filter nutrients out of the water.

Wow! Asian countries would love to have this problem. Americans don't see a good thing when it's right in front of them. This is almost endless supply of delicious protein, cooked and prepared properly, of course.

@ExTAzY101 Because the sound of the engines causes them to want to jump out of the water. So if the engine vibrates within a certain frequency, then they go crazy.

People should just eat them. It doesn't taste that bad, and people in Asia have been eating this fish for thousands of years. The only reason people here won't eat it is because they associate it with the common carp which is just an awful tasting fish. To encourage people to eat this fish it has been renamed Silverfin and Kentucky Tuna in supermarkets.

i do fish with a rod and reel. have been for 25 years. but these taste better than bass and catfish. so now im gonna toss them back to expand the native fish and eat the thick asians. they taste better and are thick. the more americans that eat these fish the quicker they go away. if you can eat a catfish then you could eat these. they are better less fishy and less contaminants. its a no brainer. you know these fish are not even a carp. do some research instead of believing rumors.
