Why doesn't anyone ever talk about fixing the problem of greed? What about a greed reduction strategy? Poverty is necessary for capitalism to thrive; it requires workers who can be exposed to hazards and live in the crappy housing. Poverty is not a cost, it's a debt - greed is the real expense. Let us please wake up.

@The2011TSK Don't let my thoughts take away from this marvelous work. It is a GREAT start but will need a lot of refinement before it becomes un-resistable. This is not a problem. All great ideas need to be refined. I am very happy Ivanova is doing this work. I applaud her. I pray she makes a huge difference. What can people do to help?

it's such a knee- jerk reaction to play the blame game on this- we all have a major role to play to end it- not just blame others.

alberta is conducting Poverty statagy reduction plan as we speak. yes the numbers seem high for b.c. though. but will cost less in the end run. house and educate youth, to keep them out of crimes and gangs. problem is they were raised by parents with strange ideas? They need somehwere to go and discuss their issues, that pertain to them? they actually need an adult to listen! to them. they have good ideas, if somone would listen?

I am not sure, but I think Facebook has volunteered as a target of left activism, unless I am the only one who has noticed how s**t their invasion of our privacy goes. @Gnosis2078 that's why they also proposed raising the minimum wage. we can bail out the financial sector though.....less poverty = less gangs, less violent crime, less kids buying/selling drugs, more parents at home with their families etc..so many bright young minds are born into poverty and become victims of it. when if they had been given the opportunity to live comfortably (literally) they could have contributed to society in a positive way

Throwing money at a problem, using "simple math," doesn't help anyone at all. The root causes of poverty need to be addressed in order to solve problems. Real solutions solve real problems and the dollars will follow suit if executed well.
