I am from Germany. Unemployment is at 6%, we just hit 22% of renewable electricity production, more than 300.000 jobs (growing) and modern wind turbines are now cheaper than coal fired power plants & nuclear. The Renewable energy act & the feed-in-tarif is more successful than anticipated.
The price for this is a tiny* surcharge that goes into the pockets of local domestic energy producers.
* Why tiny? Every year it costs consumers only a fraction of what is being spend on smoking.

Learn from Spains mistake.
Economist report for every green job created in Spain if they would of spent the money differently would of created 2.2 more Jobs. Spains unemployment rate is at over 17%.
