'Recon' (only two of the team were able to make it) trip down to one of the newer F&O sites. 'The Asylum' boasts a generous mix of woodland and urban features including two two storey structures, a single floor structure with multiple entrances and rooms so targets can pop out from anywhere and a small village to fight around. The woodland is a mix of open field, wooded 'gauntlet' and a patch of six and a half foot tall ferns where visibility is barely past the end of your AEG - excellent for sneaky players.
The first person perspective footage was shot with a Tachyon XC Action Camera mounted to my left shoulder, a quality piece of kit if you want a camera that you dont mind getting shot at and you can get right into the action with, the later footage shot with a Nikon L16 is where I could keep out of the line of fire.
F&O sites use a 'consequential narrative' to game briefing and scenarios, as such today one team represented the Israeli IDF, the other Hamas. (In essence, its a more topical Cops&Robbers so please keep the political crap out of the comments thanks).
The break down of the days play is as follows
Round 1: IDF are to push Hamas fighters off the entrance of their stronghold through woodland to a designated point. While it took them a while to acheive their goal due to Hamas being on rolling regen, they were successful.
Round 2: IDF are to storm a Hamas stronghold and place a C4 charge, Hamas are to defend and did so with much gusto resulting in the IDF failing to get the charge into place.
Round 3: This being a territories game both sides had to fight over three key structures on the site. The IDF players only managed to secure one building out of the three resulting in another Hamas victory.
Round 4: In a bid to do some serious damage the IDF prepare a rocket for fueling, their objective is to defend it for a set time, in that time the Hamas team has to blow it up. I think a lucky grenade and lots of shoot and move secured a Hamas win this round.
Round 5: It turns out that a IDF Spec Ops team is stranded in a building on site, the IDF players are to secure their comrades and escort them to an extraction point. Hamas were to find and eliminate the Spec Ops team. The IDF managed to successfully find and extract their team.
Round 6: Another territories game but this time fighting for control over the single territory that is the village, you can see the briefing in the video and some game play - as I was filming rather than playing at this point I can't recall who won this round but I'm inclined to think it was Hamas again due to the numbers left still in the game by the end of the round.
Overall a cracking day out and I seriously recommend that anyone who plays airsoft gets themselves over there if possible, as with any F&O site the staff are friendly, are top marshals and keep things running slick

Lea Castle Centre grounds as far as I'm aware are available for lease/rent and not used for the original purpose. While it IS patrolled by security guards, F&O's presence there is permitted. I'm just a customer though so I would shoot the site owners an e-mail or something to get exact info (follow the forum links).
I saw this vid linked from a Tachyon XC website. I'm thinking of getting my own helmet cam for airsoft. How did you rig it to your mask? Can you explain it and maybe show me a picture? Thanks.

Would love to try that site sometime.
