This is my build Page 14-15 of the Align T-Rex 500 ESP KX017008 Combo Version EP RC Helicopter.

In this video I show how I put together the items shown on page 14-15 of the manual.

  • Hi there,

Very helpful video. One quick question, is there a specific angle for the tail servo mount? If not, may be a rule of thumb. Cheers.

  • @stephan488 yes, you need to angle it so that the pushrod is going straight down the boom, so move it till it is travelling parallel and straight. each servo will be different as the hub maybe higher / lower which will add / decrease the angle the servo is sitting at. Just look from the tail all the way along to the servo and twist it around till it looks perfectly straight

  • Great build thanks for sharing!!!

One question: When you mounted the complete tail with TT in to the front gear/boomblock. Did you fit the TT all the way in the front umbrella gear or did you pull it back a bit giving the TT some slack between the front and rear umbrealla gear???

I previously built the 450 Pro and the amount off slack I gave the TT between gears had a lot of influence on the gyro (GP780) less slack better performance and no slack worse, had to find the sweet spot.

  • @thedjgee I pulled it back a fem mm so that it did not bind. it doesnt need much.

and yes that TT makes a difference on the gyro

  • Hi, can help me please?

I cant close the gearbox. There is a ca. 4 mm distance between the two parts. u can see the two parts in your video by 4:35 min.

  • @inagerli Ahh yes I know what you mean, it happened to me as well, pull the gear box apart and remove the alloy nuts out clear out any plastic that may have frayed etc in where the nuts sit and put it back together again it should all line up nicely
