The formula ab/2 actually is the formula for finding the area of a right triangle..However there is another formula that finds the area of any triangle.
S=(a+b+c)/2
A=sqr(s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c))
The picure drawing of the triangle is not drawn to scale and it is not a right triangle.
(a^2)+(b^2)=(c^2) and ab/2 is used first.
I don't get it. D; Can you please explain it further?

s is all 3 sides divided by 2
then you subtract the sides from the s
s-a,s-b,s-c and multiply them and then multiply this product by s and finally take the square root of it.
