At a "World Without Nuclear Weapons" forum former talk show host Phil Donohue moderated a panel that featured Jonathan Schell, author of The Fate of the Earth; Kennette Benedict, publisher of the Bulletin of AtomicScientists, and; famed whistleblower Dan Ellsberg. In this clip Ellsberg discusses questions raised by Donohue.

  • How do we get there? We simply have to "Demand the Impossible", ie, abolish authoritarian economics (capitalism) and authoritarian politics (the State). Liberals are cute, and I want to pat them on the head. But seeing this panel, I don't have to go beyond the statement "How do we get there?" from Donahue to know that they're going to suggest tinkering with the system. Also the fact that The Nation sponsored the talk suggests that they will only discuss liberal reformism.
