Last week was a truly hectic one for the EU, with violent anti-austerity demos and political deadlock again casting doubts over the future of the euro. In Spain, as many as hundreds of thousands marched in nationwide protest. They chanted slogans and waved banners demanding an end to cuts and painful austerity. In Italy, violent anti-austerity clashes erupted in the city of Naples, after yet another suicide apparently caused by an aggressive government taxation program. But above all that, is the political turmoil in Greece. There, a last-ditch effort to form a coalition has all but collapsed over differences on austerity and bailout terms. The country now looks likely to stage new elections. For more on what lies ahead for Greece, and the implications for the EU, RT talks to Panagiotis Sotiris, who is a journalist and lecturer on social and political philosophy at the University of the Aegean.

To the various mongolo-turko-fyromians who are praying to alAllah for Greece to fall and become like them, I suggest they open up a history book, because 'god' doesn't seem to answer their prayers for the past 4 YEARS (hmm, I wonder why...)
Greeks are no strangers to hardship, and those who tried to wipe them out -for millennia-,
either disappeared from the map or became the real third world.
So, be careful what you wish for ;)

No - Greece is the problem. They lied about their financial position to get into the Euro, they paid US banks for years to hide the dire state of their finances while they went on a borrowed money spending binge; billions in public subsidies, olympics, etc etc. No other country did this.
after the borrowed money ran out, their neighbours came together to help them get their books balanced, Greece took their money then say it's everyone elses fault for their own spending excesses! it's pathetic

THOSE who think GREECE leaving EU will be heaven for Greece think again. WHILE Euro currency exists Greece will be hunted by it's shadow. Drachma will be hit by high inflation and again you will have big problems.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
There's nothing wrong with Turkey,it a beautiful country, and has a growing, powerful economy.Greece is falling apart, but we DO have brothers, I wouldn't say Greece is more similar to Turkey.Different economies, religion, language ect.But due to the historical context, your comment was clearly one to provoke anger and bitterness. Here in greece,we are taught not judge on the basis of religion or race but on the character of the person whether he be turk, muslim ect. We don't hate anyone and have lives.
