I was diagnosed with shin splints well over a year ago... Since then I've seen 3 different GP's and had 2 apointments with a drop in health check.
I decided to see a private physio where they diagnosed me with (both legs); 4 stress fractures, minor acute compartment syndrome, Anterolateral AND Posteromedial shin splints of which were the most tense they had ever had at the clinic and are considering refering me on back to the NHS for serious treatment... My advice see a professional!!

@MsSoccerprincess101 you can find a taping technique for shin splints on sportsinjuryclinic . net under the rehabilitation tab at the top, and then strapping and taping
-
@MsSoccerprincess101 You need to correct the cause of the shin splints which is probably linked to your fallen arches. Have you tried any insoles? Taping may help. Stretching your calf muscles is also important.

i might have this, every time i run my lower legs feel extremely tight after 2-5min . I feel severe pain, which increases the more i run. Sometimes my legs even go numb. I always stretch before i run so its no that.

@VietMylan It depends on the severity and treatment it receives. SHin splints is quite specific pain on the lower inside border of the shin bone.

Do I shin splints?
Okay, when I run, it feels like I forgot how to run. it hurts when I run and my legs feel noodly. My ankle part hurtwhen I squat and my knee hurts :/
How long does shin splints heal?
I get shin pain after running (a couple hours or a day after). While it doesn't hurt when I'm not putting pressure on it or even walking, it gets incredibly painful if I even touch the inner part of my shin (about halfway up the bone). If I am in a sitting position that puts pressure on my shin at all then it feels like the bone is going to break.
Is this likely shin splints or something else?

@cubefreak123 Shin splints is very possible from the location of pain. Follow the advice in this and our other shin splints videos. If this fails, see a professional.

I started track about 4 weeks ago and i have noticed my pain getting progressively worse. I do all jumping events (which probably doesnt help), but i could barely do anything yesterday i was in so much pain. Like, if i had to run a 100 meter, it would hurt at the beginning and get numb near the middle, but hurt HORRIBLY after words. what do i need to do? i dont want this to stop my track career.

@xNinjaLove17x You need to determine why you are getting this. Common causes are oversupination, overpronation and tight calf muscles.
