To Bee or Not To Bee, that is the question for Hummer, a bee hummingbird (mellisuga helenae). Raised by a colony of honeybees, Hummer is confused about her origin. Although accepted and loved by the colony, she is often teased about her appearance, and is labeled a "Wanna-bee." After setting out in search of her true identity, Hummer soon realizes that the "real family" she was looking for was with her all along, and goes on to lead the colony against the Hornet when Queen Blossom crowns her as the new queen in her dying breath.
