Some old video clips from America By Rail, the Heartland with P40 #818 during the glory days of Amtrak, back in the summer of 1994. 2 clips show Amtrak P40 #818 leading the Westbound California Zephyr through Palisades, Colorado, and through Price, Utah, with some AMAZING horn action. Enjoy this blast from the past! -Trinityct.

  • @AMTK510 Good point. Do you want me to put America by rail in the title, and description headings?

  • that'd probably be your best idea

  • @AMTK510 Ok! I'm On it! :)

  • @kmothersil Yup! make sense! :)

The F40s were going to lead any way. After Salt Lake City that is. 818 most likely got put on the Desert Wind at Salt Lake City, which most likely explains why 818 was leading in the first place.

  • The Chief has good narration, and it starts in Chicago, but CZ goes from Coast to Coast, the 1st part is ok, but the Capital Limited uses Superliners now anyways.

  • @dylanbobby1 Winter wonderland is okay, because of the all the steam action, and the music; which is good, but that's about it. I wish Gregg Scholl Studios would make more of the series though. Sadly they haven't :/

  • @trinityct I do love the CZ, and America by Rail. My other favorite is the Southwest chief video, but Winter Wonderland is boring.

  • @dylanbobby1 Yep. This is their footage, but I liked it so much, and so many people like these two scenes, why not put them together for a great hornshow? :)
