    I just do squats like that, but for my leg/shoulder day what are some of the best leg exercises that you would recommend?

  • In addition to Box squats, you can do close or wide stance regular squats. close or wide stance front squats. If you ahve a Safety squat bar, it is a wonderful bar to add another variable. Leg press and hack squat machines also have their place in routines

  • Nice lift man.. I was thinking of throwing box squats in my rotation.. I would assume they would really hit those fast twitch muscle fibers since you have to do each concentric repetion from a dead start cause you to explode more thru the repetition to get off the box.. I need alot more leg mass and wanted to give these a try..

  • these will certainly help, the stronger you become, the more load you can lift and that usually equates to bigger muscle

    also check out the video of Front squats with a safety squat bar, going below parallel with a close stance will add some quad size for sure

  • Good work - I've heard in the past that with box squats once you are sitting down with all of that weight for that split second or two, it just puts a lot of pressure on the lower spine therefore causing injuries. I tried them a couple of times way back when and I did feel the pain down there. But I could be wrong what are your thoughts?

  • You got it man. This really motivated me to get serious about squatting. The fact that 225 kicks my ass on squats, but I can easily rep it on bench is bothersome lol. Time to give legs the attention they deserve.
