Constance Foore "Connee" Boswell (December 3, 1907, Kansas City, Missouri -- October 11, 1976, New York) was an American female vocalist born in Kansas City but raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. With her sisters, Martha and Helvetia "Vet" Boswell, she performed in the 1930s as The Boswell Sisters and became a highly influential singing group during this period via recordings and radio. Connee herself is widely considered one of the greatest jazz female vocalists and was a major influence on Ella Fitzgerald who said, "My mother brought home one of her records, and I fell in love with it....I tried so hard to sound just like her." In 1936, Connee's sisters retired and Connee continued on as a solo artist (having also recorded solos during her years with the group).

  • @XforeverlongingX sarcasm will get you nowhere!!! It would be good to get Your facts straight 78s from this era were made of a mixture of shellac & clay as well as other fillers, NOT VINYL! GOD has indeed BLESSED Me in many ways, AWESOME family & friends & lot`s of other things that indeed make My life very comfortable. And it sounds like you could use a little more of HIM in your life. I`ll pray for you. Anymore remarks like this will not be replyed.

  • warholsoup100 I LOVE this song indeed, But it`s "AWEFUL" how some people just want to be a BOTHER to others, It seems to bring out the very BEST or the WORST in some people. The last time I checked it is still a FREE country but some folks tend to think that freedom of speech applies only if You agree with them! Thank You so much for posting this AWESOME song, And GOD Bless You always.

  • Very nice version of this song, which I had never heard before. Thanks for posting this.

  • @XforeskinlongingX Shame on you! Putting other people down because of their religious beleifs when you dont even have any! Since when are you some authority of what God does or doesn't do? Clueless! So how many times have you watched that kid get molested on your channel? hundreds?? That the best you can do? ewwww! I'd rather hear a beauty like Connie Boswell sing a hit from back in the day. She has a remarkable voice doesnt she? Something obviously God has blessed HER with!

  • @roybo1930 You don't know the existence of a god anymore than others do not.

  • @roybo1930 yes because god gives a shit what vinyl you listen to

  • GOD has blessed me with this record! I found it 18 years agao and it was the first solo record of hers I ever heard! GOD what a sound it has. After she sings the Dorsey`s put on one of the most HAUNTING performences I have ever heard. The side bar says "Your reaction?" INCREADABLE or CLASSIC, is a understatment for this recording!

  • OMG! thank you, love this one so much.
