GNOME 3, released on April 6, offers an exciting new user experience with a streamlined approach that emphasizes the focus on tasks and bringing relevant information to the user as needed. GNOME 3 takes advantage of the graphics capabilities of modern hardware to provide attractive and easy-to-understand visuals.
Owen Taylor and Jon McCann, Red Hat's lead developer and lead designer of GNOME 3, give a tour of the GNOME 3 user interface and show how it is motivated by basic design principles. The technology behind GNOME 3 is also covered at a high level.
