If you're not a socialist in your 20s - you have no heart.
If you're still a socialist in your 30s - you have no brain.
I can understand students being ignorant about economics because they haven't yet gone out in to the real world and started paying taxes. But this man is 54, he must be brain dead.
@lewars1912 I've no doubt Bragg means well but its just another example of the pointless nature of peaceful protest. Cast your mind back to the Poll Tax, it took a riot in out capital city to get rid of that piece of legislation. One thing I'm sure of is that Cameron, Osbourne etc find it hard to hide their smirks when they see the peaceful marches and the likes of Bragg. What I'm sure of is that direct action (and no I'm not sure what type.) will be more a catalyst for change.
@sail1948 You say that this is "embarrassing" and in another comment "embarrassing rubbish." I think your mean-spirited comments on here are far more embarrassing. You seem to think that "direct action" is the "only way." Now what does this "direct action" involve exactly? It WILL work will it?
Why hate Bragg? He's committed pretty much his entire career to fighting this exact cause?! He's earned a bit of cash because his music's good but is he sat in his big house with his back to the people? NO! He's fucking in amongst it STILL and I don't think he will ever stop! I don't think you can really hate the guy for bringing so much awareness to the cause!!! If they divide us they will conquer so fucking cheer up and hold hands!!
@ECHOdavidoff and don´t think you can turn to capitalism (as we know it) for real change, the controling system must go, all of it!

@fastdon1 Its embarrasing because its pointless and futile. The only way to chuck this lot out is through direct action.
